More than a job

Hi, my name is Ryan Koch, and I am a web developer in San Diego.

For me, that means I get to do some of my favorite things in the world, nerd out about technology and solve logical problems. I chose the field of coding and computer science more generally because I’ve always had a deep love for science and creative expression. 

Late nights with Carl Sagan

I remember growing up watching Discovery documentaries about physics and astronomy and being so inspired. It led me to originally go to college for chemical engineering. After a couple of years though I found my true love. A place where I could both watch the cutting edge of technological innovation and bring value to people's lives with functional applications.

Creativity meets logic

I’ve always felt the need to express myself creatively. Through coding I can do that. Sometimes it comes as solving a problem as efficiently and elegantly as possible, working hours on a solution that in the end looks so obvious you can’t believe you didn’t think of it sooner. Other times it comes as building a functional and aesthetically pleasing user interface that brightens people’s day.
